An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Australian Daybill Movie Poster (measures 14" x 30") (Learn More) Alias Nick Beal (released in other English-speaking countries as "The Contact Man"), the 1949 John Farrow crime film noir ("Fear! Artist: Richardson Studio Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). OR you can't see the restoration because it was so well done, but the poster had fairly significant defects. OR no restoration was performed, but the defects are not major, and restoration could be done to the poster without re-backing it. See below for its pre-restoration defects (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had creases and stains across the center foldline, and a lesser number across the other foldlines. There were many creases and smudges around the edges of the poster and in the solid yellow background areas. The person who linenbacked the poster did a pretty good job, but you can still see signs of the restoration. Learn More about condition grades
