An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81") (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, the classic 1963 Alfred Hitchcock suspense horror thriller ("Nothing you have ever witnessed before has prepared you for such sheer stabbing shock!"; "'It could be the most terrifying motion picture I have ever made!' - Alfred Hitchcock"; "'...and remember, the next scream you hear may be your own!'"; "The birds is here!"; "Daphne Du Maurier's shattering psychic thriller."; "Based on Daphne Du Maurier's Classic Suspense Story!") starring Rod Taylor, Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette, Tippi Hedren (billed as "Introducing 'Tippi' Hedren, A Fascinating New Personality"), Veronica Cartwright (13 years old), and Richard Deacon. Note that Alfred Hitchcock used the two taglines "The birds is coming!" and "The birds is here!" on several different types of advertising for this movie, no doubt because he thought it was funny that while it is technically grammatically correct when referring to the movie, they "sound wrong"! The poster had tiny paper loss at some crossfolds and very minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but after it was backed it was roughly handled and there are now creases down the left and right edges of the poster, mostly in the excess linen, but extending into the edges of the poster on both sides (the creases extend much further into the border on the right side, and not very much into the border on the left side). I don't know how easy it would be to repair this, but it is not very noticeable and it is in the blank borders, which will not show when the poster is framed. Other than this defect in the left and right borders, the poster was in pretty nice condition both before and after it was backed! Learn More about condition grades
