7d0143 LOT OF 3 JOURNEY'S END ENGLISH MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS 1930 Colin Clive & James Whale!

a lot of 3 English miscellaneous items (ranging in size from 5" x 8" to 9" x 11") from Journey's End. Note that the screenplay book has what appears to be R.C. Sherriff's signature on the cover. We can't say for certain that it is authentic, but we think it likely is.

Of course, Journey's End is the 1930 James Whale English/U.S. World War I (WWI) military melodrama ("The greatest screen drama of all time"; "An All-Talking Tiffany Production"; "From the play by R.C. Sherriff"; the writer of the movie, R.C. Sherriff, had been a soldier in World War I, and he wanted to truthfully depict the psychological horrors of serving in war, and he did so successfully in his screenplay for this movie, which had top actors) starring Colin Clive ("by special permission of Maurice Browne, Ltd"), Ian Maclaren, Anthony Bushell, David Manners, Charles Gerrard, Thomas Whitley, and Billy Bevan (one of the better Charlie Chaplin imitators of the time). Note that it was the success of this movie that would raise James Whale's profile and get him signed to Universal, and get him the directing assignment on the following year's "Frankenstein" (and he cast Colin Clive, whom he had worked with on this movie). We do not provide a list of these items, but there are images of all of them.
