Also included is a supplement hardcover book (measures 9 1/2" x 12 1/2"; 144 pages) and also two supplement brochures (both measure 12" x 17 1/2", with 12 pages and 8 pages) (Learn More) Valley of the Cliffhangers, the incredible 1975 Jack Mathis Republic Studios serials hardcover tribute book featuring artwork, photographs, cast listings, and information about several of the popular Republic serials from the 1930s to the 1950s such as Darkest Africa, Undersea Kingdom, Dick Tracy, The Lone Ranger, Adventures of Red Ryder, Captain America, Son of Zorro, Canadian Mounties vs. Atomic Invaders, and King of the Carnival. Note that Jack Mathis LOVED the Republic serials, and he spent a staggering amount of money preparing this deluxe massive hardcover coffee table book with 453 pages! We have pictured a sampling of the pages, and please know that all of the pages are like the samples! The only other publications I have ever seen that rival this are the $300 Russ Cochran tribute books for Hopalong Cassidy (and his earlier 3 volume set on Edgar Rice Burroughs). This book was published at $75 in 1975 and quickly sold out. I have seen it sell at auction for as much as $2,000, and it is rarely offered for sale or auction, likely because the original buyers just don't want to sell theirs! Important Added Info: Note that this wonderful hardcover book was consigned to us from the estate of a man who purchased it in 1975, when it was published. Not only does the winner of this auction get this book, but they also get the supplement hardcover book that Jack Mathis published, plus the two supplements that he sent out to people who purchased the book (see our many images)!
