Date Sold 6/14/2011Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Adam's Rib, the 1923 Cecil B. DeMille silent romantic love triangle idle rich melodrama ("By Jeanie Macpherson"; about the neglected wife of a businessman who attracts the attention of a deposed king, and she plans to run off with him, and her daughter steals the king away from her, but only to save her parents' marriage, but at the cost of ruining her own engagement) starring Milton Sills, Elliott Dexter, Theodore Kosloff, Anna Q. Nilsson, and Pauline Garon NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the vast majority of collectors would assume that this is a title card, but it is not! In the mid to late 1920s, Paramount made many sets of lobby cards where the seven scene cards all LOOK like title cards, but the actual title card is different from the seven scene cards (not too long after this, Paramount abandoned title cards altogether for the most part for the next forty-odd years, instead using a posed portrait of the stars in place of a title card). This scene card is from one of those sets where the scene cards are commonly mistaken for title cards. Please do not bid on it thinking it is a title card, as it is a scene card! Condition: very good. There are scuffs in the solid green and yellow areas and pinholes in the corners. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition! Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back of the card! Learn More about condition grades
