An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Magazine (Learn More) a lot of 12 Photoplay magazines. Photoplay, the leading movie magazine sold to the public. Each issue features a great full color cover of a leading star of the day, plus lots of interior publicity stories about current stars and movies with many color and black and white images throughout. Also, in every issue are many wonderful vintage ads, some in color and some in black and white, and sometimes the ads can be just as much fun as the original stories and pictures. Of course, some of the ads are from movies that were about to open, and in the early days of eBay, people would remove those full-page ads and auction them by themselves, and they would often sell for $10, $20, or more, just for a single movie ad removed from a magazine just like this! Note that for a brief time in the late 1930s, Photoplay switched to a larger format that measured just under 11" x 14". But apparently this was not as popular with their readers as the regular magazine size, and so they switched back to that size. Also note that during World War II, Photoplay combined with Movie Mirror and for a brief time, the title read "Photoplay combined with Movie Mirror", but then reverted back to simply being called "Photoplay".
