An Original 1968 (from the first release of this movie in Japan) Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese "B2" Movie Poster (measures 20 1/4" x 28 5/8" [51 x 73 cm]) (Learn More) The Trip, the 1967 Roger Corman LSD acid drug thriller ("A Lovely Sort of Death"; "In Psychedelic COLOR"; "Written by Jack Nicholson"; about a commercial director who is going through a bitter divorce, so he decides to go on an LSD trip...) starring Peter Fonda, Susan Strasberg, Dennis Hopper, Bruce Dern, and Salli Sachse. Note that the poster designer created a wacky tagline "A Lovely Sort of Death", just so the L, S, and D at the start of each word could be highlighted in a different color, so that the "LSD" would be apparent on the poster, and yet would hopefully keep them out of trouble from censors! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have only auctioned one with this different design in all our years of auctioning and that was in 2009! Note also that the Japanese poster designer apparently did not want to use the American tagline "A Lovely Sort of Death", which was solely used so that the letters L, S, and D could be highlighted so that "LSD" could be on the poster, and instead they used a different English language tagline, "a Love Story of Dream", again with the L, S, and D highlighted! Condition: very good. There is a very light horizontal crease across the poster at upper and lower center from it being stored with posters that were tri-folded. It has slightly darkened along the back of the waves but that has little or no effect on the front and other some light creases the very rare poster is in pretty nice condition!
