An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Ladies of the Mob, the 1928 William A. Wellman silent romantic crime melodrama (a wild story of a girl whose father died in the electric chair, and her mother raised her to be a crook as well; she grows up and falls in love with another crook, and she fears he will end up like her father, so she shoots him in the shoulder so he can't go on a bank robbery with the gang, but everything works out in the end) starring Clara Bow, Richard Arlen, Helen Lynch, Mary Alden, and Carl Gerard. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. Note that Clara Bow was the most famous "flapper girl" of the mid to late 1920s (she became known as "The It Girl" after the character she played based on the popular novel by Elinor Glyn). She had a major role in Wings, and was Paramount's biggest star at that time. But she had a notorious private life and seemingly "settled down" when she married cowboy star Rex Bell in 1931 (she had two children and she retired from movies), but sadly in 1949 she went into a mental institution after a failed suicide attempt (she had had psychiatric issues for quite some time) and she was released but never returned to her family, and lived alone until her death in 1965. Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. Someone glued a bunch of Greyhound bus ads to the back of the card, but they have almost no effect on the front. However, someone likely tried to remove an ad from the back, and that caused tears and paper loss in the right of the bottom border, extending into Wellman's credit (see our image). There is a similar tear in the right of the top border, slightly entering the "A" of "CLARA". There are some smudges and small stains around the edges and surface paper loss in the bottom center of the image, in Bow's hand and in Arlen's sleeve. There is a pinhole in each corner. Obviously, a talented restorer could "rescue" this great card, but bear these defects and the cost of restoration in mind before placing a bid on it. Learn More about condition grades
