An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) The Invisible Boy, the 1957 Herman Hoffman science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("The science-monster who would destroy the world!"; "Horror grips the earth as robot runs amok!"; "Screen Play by Cyril Hume"; "Based On The Story By Edmund Cooper") starring Richard Eyer, Philip Abbott, Diane Brewster, Harold Stone, Robert H. Harris, and Robby the Robot (who was so memorable in "Forbidden Planet" the year before). Note that there are those who speculate that one of the main reasons Robby the Robot appears in this movie is because MGM had spent a LOT of money creating him for Forbidden Planet, and they wanted to recoup some of that money by casting him in another film! Artist: Mort Kunstler Important Added Info: Note that many sources credit Reynold Brown as the artist behind the great artwork on the posters created for this movie. However, the six-sheet poster shows more of the artwork and it is signed by Mort Kunstler, so it is clear that Reynold Brown was incorrectly credited on many of the posters for this movie for many years! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of some folds. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. After the poster was backed, it was roughly handled, and it acquired creases, scratches, and tiny surface paper loss to the right of "The" of the title, and it acquired surface paper loss scattered in small areas below the "Boy" of the title. It also had a few small areas of surface paper loss in the lower left and right black background areas. It is fortunate that all the paper loss described above is in solid black areas, and surely a restorer could touch it up, with or without re-backing the poster, but bear the above in mind and look closely at our super-sized image before bidding on this poster.
