An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

The Lonely Sex, the 1959 Richard Hilliard kidnapping crime thriller ("His desperate cry tears thru the night..."; "With all the frustrations of... The Lonely Sex"; about a sexually frustrated mentally unbalanced man that kidnaps a young woman in the deluded hope that she will become his "girlfriend" and his extreme loneliness) starring Jean Evans, Karl Ludwig Lindt, Leon Benedict, Mary Gonzalez, and Carl Collyer. Note that this movie was made the year prior to both "Psycho" and "Peeping Tom", two major films from highly respected directors (Alfred Hitchcock and Michael Powell), and it has a similar plot line, and yet it is completely forgotten today, except by major film buffs. It only had a running time of 58 minutes, and there is brief nudity at the beginning of the movie, and it is often dismissed as simply another "sexploitation" movie of the time, but it was really quite different, with an attempt to both understand and feel pity for the mentally unbalanced kidnapper, just as would occur a year later in the above two major movies.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster is one of a remarkable collection of 24 sexploitation one-sheets (and one two-sheet from one of the 24 titles) which are mostly from the 1940s, and most of them are ones we have never auctioned before. These are among the most desirable sexploitation posters ever, because they are far more rare than those from later years!

Condition: very good. The poster has creases at the crossfolds and staple holes in the corners, with some darkening, creases, and tears in the lower left border. Otherwise, it is in pretty nice condition!
