Oil For the Lamps of China, the 1935 Mervyn LeRoy big business romantic love triangle family relationship inventor melodrama ("By Alice Tisdale Hobart"; an incredibly complicated story of an American who is sent by an oil company to work in China, and while there, he invents a new kind of lamp, and he intends to return to America with his new wife to start manufacturing his invention, but just before the wedding, his wife-to-be jilts him, and he hires a woman to marry him in a pretend ceremony so that he can not lose face with his company, and that is only the beginning of this very complicated movie!) starring Pat O'Brien, Josephine Hutchinson, Jean Muir, Lyle Talbot, and Arthur Byron
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a title lobby card, a herald, and a few stills from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this second lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. There are pinholes, smudges and tiny stains around the edges with a 1" tear in the right of the top border, creases in the top right corner and tiny surface paper loss in the upper right blank border. The card displays pretty well, but certainly any talented restorer could greatly improve its appearance, and likely be able to remove the smudges and stains chemically. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
