She was very smart and would almost always play the wisecracking best friend of the heroine. She had major success as the star of the "Our Miss Brooks" TV show, and she continued to play character parts long after that, including memorable performances in Anatomy of a Murder and Grease. Some of her other movies include: Mildred Pierce (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), We're Not Married, and Cover Girl. She passed away in 1990 at the age of 82. Important Added Info: Note that this book has been personally autographed (signed) by Eve Arden! Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note that this is one of eleven books (in eleven separate auctions) that we were consigned that are from the estate of Dom DeLuise. All of the books were given to Mr. DeLuise by the people who signed them, and he added his bookplate to an early page of each volume. None have a certificate of authenticity, but all the autographs are 100% surely genuine. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
