He is best known for his book Where the Wild Things Are, and he also illustrated the Little Bear series of books by Else Holmelund Minarik. Sendak passed away in 2012 at the age of 83. Artist: Maurice Sendak Important Added Info: Note that this piece of paper has been personally autographed (signed) by Maurice Sendak (he also added a drawing from his popular children's book "Pierre: a cautionary tale")! Also included are two candid images of Sendak from a movie theater, one with children. Our consignor is a longtime dealer who acquired this signed item among many other purchases in his inventory, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
