An Original Vintage French Campaign Book (measures 9 3/4" x 12 1/2" [25 x 32 cm]; 64 pages) (Learn More)

Paramount 1923-1924, the 1923 French campaign book ("Livre d'Or des Films Paramount") which covered the films Paramount released in France between September 1923 and February 1924 (a 6 month period), and we would imagine they made a separate one every six months, but these are so rare, that we don't know. This campaign book is very similar to U.S. campaign books of the period, with some beginning pages about Paramount executives in France, followed by a series of ads for 45 films that Paramount would be releasing in France during that 6-month period. Most of the ads are 1 page per movie, but some of the ads are 2 pages, and of course, the entire book is in French. Of course, the films featured are those that starred Paramount's biggest stars, including Rudolph Valentino, Marion Davies, Bebe Daniels, Gloria Swanson, William S. Hart, Fatty Arbuckle, and many more, and of course, their top director, Cecil B. DeMille. The ads are all two-color and are mostly photographic. We have pictured some of them, but we wish we could have pictured them all. Campaign books in general are extremely rare, but ones from France from before World War II are even more rare, and ones from the silent days are beyond rare!
