An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Rose of Washington Square, the 1939 Gregory Ratoff New York City biographical romantic musical ("Song by song... scene by scene... the thrill grows greater"; "Music and Lyrics by Gordon and Revel, Hanley and MacDonald"; produced by Darryl F. Zanuck) starring Tyrone Power Jr., Alice Faye (in the title role as Rose Sargent), Al Jolson, William Frawley, Joyce Compton, Hobart Cavanaugh, Louis Prima, and Moroni Olsen. "Everybody" in Hollywood knew that this was actually a biography of Fanny Brice and gambler Nicky Arnstein, and Brice herself sued 20th Century Fox for defamation of character, and the case was settled out of court. Years later of course, two movies would be based on Brice's life, "Funny Girl" and "Funny Lady", with Barbra Streisand, and Omar Sharif in the lead roles.

Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: fair to good. There was large paper loss in the bottom right and someone taped a piece of another card to the back of that area, and then performed restoration to the front (see our images). There is a 1 1/2" tear at bottom center and a tiny tear at top left that were both repaired with tape from the back.
