X: The Unknown, the 1956 (released in the U.S. as "X... The Unknown" in 1957) Leslie Norman English Hammer horror science fiction (sci-fi) mystery thriller ("Machine gun bullets! Dynamite! Flame throwers! Nothing can stop it!"; "Can anything escape its terror?"; "It kills... but it cannot be killed! It rises from 2000 miles beneath the earth to melt everything in its path... machine gun bullets, flame throwers... nothing can stop it!"; "Story and Screen Play by Jimmy Sangster") starring Dean Jagger, Edward Chapman, Leo McKern, Anthony Newley, and Jameson Clark. Note that the film's release was delayed by eight months because of a dispute between RKO and Warner Brothers over the distribution (in the late 1950s, RKO was selling it's movies to other studios; the posters and lobby cards were printed with an RKO copyright, but we have seen ones with a studio-issued "presented by Warner Bros." snipe glued on them!).

There is slight discoloration scattered in various areas of the poster due to exposure to moisture and there is some deterioration and paper loss at upper right in the horizontal fold.
