Date Sold 4/14/2024Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original 1974 (from the first release of this movie in Japan) Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese "B1" Movie Poster (29x41; measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2" [72 x 103 cm]) (Learn More) Tang Shan Da Xiong (released in Hong Kong as "Tang Shan Da Xiong/The Big Boss", released in the U.S. in 1973 as "Fists of Fury"), the classic 1971 Lo Wei Hong Kong kung fu martial arts thriller ("Karate/Kung-Fu!"; "The new screen excitement that gives you the biggest kick of your life!"; "Karate/Kung-Fu! The oriental sensation - now gives America the action its been waiting for!"; "No evil on earth could survive the fury that was Bruce Lee!") starring Bruce Lee ("every limb of his body is a lethal weapon"), Maria Yi, Han Ying Chieh, Tony Liu, and Malalene. Note that this movie (and "The Chinese Connection") received very limited release in the United States until after the success of "Enter the Dragon", at which point both movies received wide U.S. releases. Also, note that Australia distributed this movie as "The Chinese Connection", and released Lee's next movie (Jing Wu Men) as "Fist of Fury", which further complicates things! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Japanese B1 poster! Note that this is a rare Japanese "B1" poster that measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2" [72 x 103 cm]! "B1" posters are FAR more rare than "B2" posters (which measure approximately 20" x 28 1/2"), and because they are larger (similar in size to a U.S. one-sheet), they are more impressive when displayed on a wall! Condition: good. The poster was never folded. It has a number of small vertical creases scattered in the poster, with more in the top center of the poster extending down to the left and right of Lee's eye. One could have the poster backed, and that would greatly diminish how noticeable the creases are, or one might choose to display this rare poster exactly as it is, but that will be the choice of the new owner.
