An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded French "Affiche" Movie Poster (23x31; measures 22 3/4" x 30 3/4") (Learn More) The Clue of the Twisted Candle, the 1960 Allan Davis English London Scotland Yard crime detective mystery melodrama (based on a story by Edgar Wallace) starring Edmond Bennett, A.J. Brown, Richard Caldicot, Francis De Wolff, Kenneth Fortescue, and Gladys Henson. Note that this is one of the many short movies that were filmed in England in the 1960s, and were released to theaters there as second bill movies (like American B-movies of the 1950s). In 1960, an American distributor acquired the rights to these movies (there were approximately 50 of them) and they released them as a TV series in the U.S. called "The Edgar Wallace Mystery Theatre". The U.S. series added another 20 episodes that were likely not based on Edgar Wallace mysteries! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
