A Photographic Negative (measures 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm]) (Learn More)

Baby LeRoy (born Ronald Le Roy Overacker) was an infant actor in the 1930s. "A Bedtime Story" in 1933 marked Baby LeRoy's entrance into show business, and he was just 11 months old when the film was released (not only could he not sign a contract, because he was underage and also couldn't write, but his 16 year-old mother was also underage, and his grandfather had to sign his contract!). He appeared in a total of nine movies over the next two years, and is best remembered for his movies with W.C. Fields: It's a Gift, The Old Fashioned Way, and Tillie and Gus. He basically retired at the age of 4 in 1936. In 1940, it looked like he would have a "comeback" at the age of 8 when he was cast in the lead of "The Biscuit Eater", but he became ill during filming a water stunt, and he was quickly replaced by Billy Lee, with the promise from Paramount that he would get another movie, but he never did. He lived until 2001, passing away at the age of 69, without ever making another movie!
Important Added Info: Note that this negative has no information with it, so we don't know when it was created, but we are guessing the 1930s. Also note that this (or these, in the case of multiple negatives) was created by and sent by the studio that produced this (in the year noted on this auction) to newspapers, magazines, TV stations, or reviewers, so that they could use them to create the highest quality ads. They can be used to make very high quality reproductions, but bear in mind that we are solely auctioning the physical negatives and NOT the right to reproduce them, so unless they are public domain, the new owner must acquire the rights elsewhere before reproducing them. NOTE THAT THE ITEM(S) YOU ARE PURCHASING IS A "NEGATIVE" THAT HAS A REVERSE IMAGE, AS SEEN IN OUR PHOTO (we also scanned them as well, using a special "negative setting", which reverses the image, so that you can see how the negative appears when you reverse the image, but the buyer of this auction will receive one or more negatives, NOT a positive image, as seen in our special scan).

Condition: very good. The negative does not have a plastic sleeve, but it would certainly be easy to acquire one.
