An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Belgian Movie Poster (measures 24" x 33 1/2" [61 x 85 cm]) (Learn More) Radio City Revels, the 1938 Ben Stoloff New York City Radio City Music Hall musical comedy starring Bob Burns, Jack Oakie, Kenny Baker, Ann Miller, Victor Moore, Milton Berle, Helen Broderick, Jane Froman, Buster West, Melissa Mason, and Hal Kemp and His Orchestra. Ann Miller was only 14 years old when this movie was made (her mother had lied about her age), but she was given this major role after she had scenes dancing with Ginger Rogers in "Stage Door" the year before! Prior to World War II, Belgian posters were much larger than the ones from after the war, and they are extremely rare (because during WWII, there was a massive paper shortage in Belgium, and they took virtually every poster and map, and printed new posters on the backs of them!). What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfold and fine surface paper loss on both foldlines, with pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
