An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Six-Sheet Movie Poster (79" x 80") (Learn More) The Creature Walks Among Us, the 1956 John Sherwood Universal science fiction (sci-fi) underwater sea monster horror thriller sequel ("Beauty and the man-beast from a lost world!"; "Terror runs rampant on the city streets... as the Monster strikes Again!"; "A city screams in terror!"; "All new underwater thrills!"; "Half monster! ...half man! A clutching claw at the heart of civilization!"; "Science baits his fury with a woman's beauty!"; "No chains can hold the power of his passions!"; "Terror stalks the city's streets!!"; "Half monster! Half man! On a rampage of revenge!"; "Story and Screenplay by Arthur Ross"; set in The Florida Everglades and San Francisco!) starring Jeff Morrow, Rex Reason, Leigh Snowden, Gregg Palmer, Maurice Manson, Ricou Browning (who played the monster underwater), and Don Megowan (who played the monster on land). Note that, in this film, scientists transport the creature from the Everglades in Florida to San Francisco, California! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the person who consigned this poster has owned it for a VERY long time! He had the poster tacked to his wall at one time, and when he took it down, he rolled up each of the four sections of the poster, rather than re-fold them. He kept them stored that way for many years (with all four sections rolled together), and we will send the poster rolled in a tube, because we feel certain that the new owner of this great poster will have it linenbacked, and it makes no sense to fold the sections, when the folds have greatly diminished over the years the poster has been stored rolled. Condition: good to very good. Each of the four sections have many defects (but the sort that are relatively easy to correct during the linenbacking process). The two large sections of the poster are the two pieces that contain the top right and bottom right of the image, and the two small sections are the two pieces that contain the top left and bottom left of the image. The small piece that contains the top left of the image has a 4" tear in the left of the "M" of "AMONG" which was repaired with tape from the back. There is a four-inch semicircular tear in the bottom of the "O" of "AMONG" and a 3 inch semicircular tear in the background below the "A" of "AMONG". There are many small tears along the top and bottom of this small section, and some creases throughout this section. The small section of the poster that contains the bottom left of the image has a small oval area of paper loss in the yellow background to the right of the creature's foot. There are two 2" semicircular tears in the top of this section and some small tears along the top edge of this section. There are some creases throughout the section. The large section that contains the top right of the image has paper loss in the bottom edge below the "A" of "WALKS" and paper loss in the edge of the poster that is below the top of the "S" of "US" (but fortunately, this is in the blank part of that section that is designed to go under the bottom piece, so that paper loss is not significant at all). There are brown stains around the edges of this section, more so in the blank borders and none in the creature's image. There is 3 inches of clean separation along the foldlines runs horizontally across the middle of this section, in the creature's arm above the "E" of "CREATURE". There is a 3 inch tear in the bottom of the "K" of "WALKS" that has a piece of tape on the back of it. This section has many small tears and some tiny paper loss across the top and bottom edges. The last big section, which is the part that contains the bottom right of the image, has 12 inches of separation at the right of the horizontal foldlines that runs across the middle of the section across the chests of the two men at the lower right. There is 4 inches of separation to the right of the large man at lower right's head, entirely in the border and background. There is a 6 inch tear in the bottom right corner of the poster just below the Universal logo. There is a four-inch diagonal tear in the bottom of the bridge next to the "S" of "US", and a 5 inch L-shaped tear in the middle of the "U" of "US". There is a 6 inch L-shaped tear in the bottom of the "G" of "AMONG" extending into the background area beneath it. There is 3 inches of separation below the "L" of "ALLAND" in the bottom credits. There are some brown stains in the background area above the small images of the people running, with one of the stains extending slightly onto one of the people and with tiny paper loss in one of the stains. There are some stains across the bottom right border, mostly in the white border area, but a few in the yellow credits area. THE POSTER IS IN BETTER CONDITION THAN THE ABOVE MAKES IT SOUND! While the poster clearly does have lots of small defects, they are the sort that are commonly seen in larger posters, and any talented restorer is used to dealing with them. It is also nice that there are only the two small tape repairs described above (often unbacked six-sheets will have quite a bit of tape on the back of them, and that creates a lot of added work for the restorer). After this poster is properly linenbacked and restored, it will look fantastic, and there will be very little paint restoration overall! Learn More about condition grades
