A Needless Loss, the 1943 U.S. World War II (WWII) Home Front poster encouraging citizens to be careful with sensitive information, and featuring Anton Otto Fischer artwork of a dead U.S. sailor washed up on a beach. This poster might seem "heavy handed" to today's world, but America during World War II was very conscious of not accidentally giving information to the enemy. Artist: Anton Otto Fischer Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was folded in half an extra time (typical of larger war posters of this period), and it had some surface paper loss and tiny creases on parts of the folds. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
