An Original Vintage Unfolded Special Movie Poster (measures 28 1/4" x 42 1/4" [72 x 107 cm]) (Learn More) Life for Life, the 1904 silent religious morality melodrama ("Go and sin no more"; "Friends in death"). This was one of the movies made by Barnsdale, an unheralded pioneer of early American cinema. Barnsdale made movies at the turn of the century, and they were all strong on redemption and morality, and he exhibited them at prisons! Many years after his death, his son discovered multiple examples of some of his early posters among his belongings, and included in those were examples of this 1904 poster (it is dated 1904 and it has a litho mark from "American Show Print" in the bottom right). Apparently, the top border of the poster was where show times could be written in (much like window cards). If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: UPDATED 12/18/2017: Note that we have updated the Condition Description. Condition: good. There is light rippling and slight discoloration scattered in portions of the poster due to exposure to moisture and there are a few tears of varying lengths around the edges (especially at lower left where there is a larger tear) as well as some paper loss at upper right.
