An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Advance Forty by Sixty Movie Poster (40x60; measures 40" x 60" [102 x 152 cm]) (Learn More) Marooned, the 1969 John Sturges science fiction (sci-fi) astronauts-stranded-in-outer-space thriller ("Three marooned astronauts. Only 55 minutes left to rescue them. While the whole world watches and waits..."; "Based on the novel by Martin Caidin"; "The Saga Of Ironman One!") starring Gregory Peck, Richard Crenna, David Janssen ("as Ted Dougherty"), James Franciscus, Gene Hackman, Lee Grant, Nancy Kovack, and Mariette Hartley. Note that this movie started production in 1965, and at that point, Frank Capra was the director, but he couldn't get the budget to what Columbia wanted it to be ($3 million), and the movie was abandoned. Four years later, it was filed by John Sturges with a budget of $8 million! Frank Capra never made another movie. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this advance 40x60! It was printed in advance of the movie showing, and not only does it have different art from the other posters (although it is similar to the style B one-sheet), but also you had to send in an order for tickets to the reserved seat engagement through the mail! Apparently, they REALLY expected this to be a giant hit. Condition: very good. The poster was folded and it has 1" of separation at one of the crossfolds and some minor fold and border wear, with some slight darkening on the part of the poster that was on the outside when the poster was fully folded.
