An Undated (probably 1940s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) In Old California (released in Spain as "California"), the 1942 William C. McGann California Gold Rush romantic love triangle melodrama (oddly, John Wayne plays an easterner, a pharmacist who goes to Sacramento during the California Gold Rush, but of course, Wayne is far tougher than any easterner in any other western we've seen, and he gets in trouble when he steals the girl of the local political boss, but he redeems himself when a typhoid epidemic breaks out) starring John Wayne, Binnie Barnes, Albert Dekker, Helen Parrish, Patsy Kelly, Edgar Kennedy, Dick Purcell, Emily La Rue, and Esther Estrella NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is one of two 1940s re-release posters from this movie we are currently selling (as separate items). Both were issued by Republic Pictures, and both appear to be from the late 1940s (although they have very different images). We have marked them as "#1" and "#2", as a way to differentiate them. Condition: very good. creases and 1" and smaller tears (including one at upper left in Wayne's cheek) along the foldlines from the poster being folded off-center at one time (some tears repaired with tape from the back) as well as minor creases, smudges, and scuffs throughout; 2" of separation in the vertical fold in the "blue" inset image at lower center as well as some separation at each crossfold and at the ends of the foldlines (again, some repaired with tape from the back); NSS stamp on the back bleeds through slightly to the front in the yellow background at lower center. The poster is in better condition than the above makes it sound! Its defects are relatively minor, and are the type that respond extremely well to restoration. After linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster would look wonderful, and there would be little paint anywhere on the poster! Learn More about condition grades
