An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Shanghai Express, the 1932 Josef von Sternberg (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) China Asian railroad train romantic adventure thriller (nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a group of passengers on a Chinese train bound for Shanghai; naturally, there are all sorts of different and memorable passengers, including Chinese revolutionaries, but none more memorable than the "Shanghai Lily", played of course by Dietrich) starring Marlene Dietrich, Clive Brook, Anna May Wong, Warner Oland, Eugene Pallette, Lawrence Grant, and Louise Closser Hale. Note that this was one of the seven movies that Dietrich made with director von Sternberg, and it is likely the best regarded, after "The Blue Angel" (which was the only one of the seven which was not a U.S. movie, because von Sternberg made it in Germany, in both languages). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm]. Condition: good to very good. The still has very slightly darkened.
