An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Belgian Movie Poster (measures 14 1/2" x 19") (Learn More) Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff, the 1949 Charles Barton screwball horror comedy ("More Ghoulish glee... Than when they met Frankenstein!"; "Help") starring Bud Abbott, Lou Costello (Abbott and Costello), Boris Karloff, Lenore Aubert, and Gar Moore. Note that this movie was originally titled "Easy Does It", and it was intended to be a Bob Hope comedy! However, the movie "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" had just come out and was a huge hit, and Universal reworked the script for Abbott & Costello, and changed the title to "Abbott and Costello Meet the Killers"! In that script, the lead villain was a FEMALE character named "Madame Switzer"! Five days before shooting began, Boris Karloff was hired, and the character became a swami, and the title of the movie was changed yet again, to include Boris Karloff's name! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Bos Important Added Info: Note that this Belgian poster measures 14 1/2" x 19" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). The poster had several creases across the center, and also across the bottom of the image just above the title. The poster also had pinholes, smudges, and some tears around the edges of the poster.
