An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) 365 Nights in Hollywood, the 1934 George Marshal Los Angeles California con man musical movie acting comedy ("Laughing Lowdown on a couple of Hollywood Upstarts!... From the private notebook of a famous Hollywood columnist comes the story of a boy, a girl and two ambitious ice-men who turned the cinema city into a center of screams and suspense!"; "Based on a book of a short stories by Jimmy Starr"; about two con men in Hollywood who run a fake acting school; when a beautiful girl shows up from the Midwest, they find a rich man to back a film starring her, but they plan to rob the man, so they set out to make a terrible movie which will "lose" lots of money for their rich investor, and they hire a washed up director to insure failure, but he takes the job seriously and sobers up, and after many misadventures, the movie is a smash success, and the con men go to jail) starring James Dunn, Alice Faye, Frank Mitchell, Jack Durant, and John Bradford. Note that if this movie sounds remarkably similar to the Mel Brooks classic, "The Producers", it is because Brooks borrowed a huge amount of the plot elements from this now forgotten movie! This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Condition: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the card had had a blank top that was mostly trimmed off. It also had darkened somewhat. There were some pinholes around the edges and some faint smudges and scuffs scattered in the image. Overall, the card was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The card was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
