An Unfolded German Special Poster (measures 23 3/4" x 35 3/4" [60 x 91 cm]) (Learn More)

Dudelsack Mummenschanz (literally translates to "Bagpipe Mummery"), the 1930s (or late 1920s) German poster promoting a masquerade festival to take place in Leipzig, Germany on February 16th. The festival was held at the "C.T." (a concert/cafe venue in Leipzig), and it seems that this was an annual festival. Note that this poster features art of a bagpipe playing itself. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that decades later, in 1972, the "Mummenschanz Mask Theater" was founded in the U.S., Canada, and South America (they even appeared as special guest stars on "The Muppet Show"!), and there was a Mummenschanz show on Broadway that ran from 1977 to 1980. These were a tribute to the original Mummenschanz festivals of the 1920s and 1930s, and have made modern day audiences much more aware of them!
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: good to very good. The poster was folded across the middle. It has creases and tears around the edges.
