An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 7" x 10" [18 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Claire Adams was a Canadian actress from the 1910s to the 1930s. She was born in Canada, but went to school in England and became a nurse after World War I. After briefly returning to Canada, she went to Hollywood and made a lot of non-talking movies, marrying her producer, Benjamin Hampton. When he died in 1932, she was left a fortune, and she soon remarried a wealthy Scotsman, Scobie Mackinnon. They moved to Australia and neither marriage produced any children, and they lived a life of leisure until he passed away in 1974, which left her even richer, and she passed away in 1978 at the age of 82, creating a wildlife sanctuary in Australia and benefiting numerous charities. Important Added Info: Note that this still was purchased directly from the estate of Claire Adams. We are auctioning other photos from her estate in this set of auctions, and will be auctioning others in future sets of auctions. Some of the photos have handwritten notes on the back, and we believe that the majority of those notes (if not all) are written by Claire Adams herself (and it seems that she wrote most of them many years after making the movies, because many of the notes are either inaccurate, or vague, the way one would write if decades had passed). Also note that this still measures 7" x 10" [18 x 25 cm], but it has not been trimmed, and it is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Note that this deluxe still has an embossed photographer's signature in the bottom right, and also an embossed seal in the upper left corner. Condition: very good to fine. There is a tiny bit of paper loss in the right of the bottom blank border, but the still is otherwise in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
