An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) Little Women, the 1949 Mervyn LeRoy romantic melodrama ("Everybody Loves Little Women"; "MGM's NEW Technicolor Romance!"; "World's greatest love story!"; "Four beautiful sisters... and the lucky boy-next-door!"; "From the Novel by Louisa May Alcott"; "Screen play by Andrew Solt, Sarah Y. Mason and Victor Heerman") starring June Allyson (as Jo), Peter Lawford (as Laurie), Margaret O'Brien (as Beth), Elizabeth Taylor (as Amy), Janet Leigh (as Meg), Rossano Brazzi (in his first American movie!), Mary Astor, Lucile Watson, C. Aubrey Smith, and Harry Davenport. Note that this was a remake of the 1933 movie of the same name which starred Katherine Hepburn as Jo Marsh. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster was generally in nice condition prior to linenbacking, with the exception of some slight staining and tears in the poster that began to the right of the word "Romance" near the middle of the poster, and runs slightly diagonally across up into the forehead of the girl at right. The person who restored the poster pretty much left the poster as is, so that you can still see traces of the slight stains and tears in the above described area, but it is not very noticeable. Of course, any talented restorer could perform additional touch-up to this area without re-backing the poster. Learn More about condition grades
