(released in the U.S. as "To Hell with Hitler" and released in Australia as "Gunner George"), the 1940 Marcel Varnel English World War II (WWII) musical mistaken identity spy espionage comedy ("The big laffkrieg"; about a ukulele player who visits England during World War II and is mistaken by a female intelligence agent as a fellow spy, and he is enlisted to help defeat the Nazis!) starring George Formby (in the title role as George Hepplewhite), Phyllis Calvert, Garry Marsh, Romney Brent, and Bernard Lee. Note that this film was originally titled "To Hell with Hitler", but the title was changed because of pressure from censors. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. There is a small area of marker writing on the back of the poster that bleeds through at center.
