An Original Vintage Herald (measures 4 3/4" x 7 3/4" [12 x 20 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More)

a local theater herald advertising the complete program for the week of February 21st, 1932 at the Capital Theatre in South River, New Jersey, comprised of the following movies: Union Depot, the 1932 Alfred E. Green New York City railroad train station romantic crime comedy (about two hobos who find a suitcase full of money, and they get mixed up with a down-and-out showgirl, and it turns out the money is counterfeit, and they are arrested, and everything works out at the end, but oddly, the hobo puts the girl on the train so he can stay with his buddy!) starring Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Joan Blondell, Guy Kibbee, Alan Hale Sr., David Landau, and George Rosener AND The Hatchet Man, the 1932 William A. Wellman Asian/American romantic crime thriller ("- he served two masters... LOVE and HATE!"; "He Kills! She Thrills!") starring Edward G. Robinson, Loretta Young, Dudley Digges, Leslie Fenton, and Tully Marshall AND Surrender, the 1931 William K. Howard World War I (WWI) romantic love triangle prisoner-of-war (POW) crime melodrama ("From the novel 'Axelle' by Pierre Benoit") starring Warner Baxter, Leila Hyams, Ralph Bellamy, Alexander Kirkland, and C. Aubrey Smith. Note that this was Ralph Bellamy's fourth movie, and first major role. As usual, he did not play the lead, and in this movie, he literally played "the heavy" (it looks like he gained weight for the part!). Note that this herald also includes a preview for Dance Team, the movie being shown the following week!
