An Original Vintage Autographed 5" x 7" [13 x 18 cm] Fan Photo (Learn More) Dick Powell was an actor from the 1930s to the 1960s. Some of his movies include: Just Around the Corner, Gold Diggers of 1933, Murder, My Sweet, Footlight Parade, and The Bad and the Beautiful. He was a light romantic musical star in the 1930s (and he released several albums during this period), and then he completely "reinvented" himself in the 1940s, playing tough guys in movies such as "Murder, My Sweet"! He was married to actresses Joan Blondell and June Allyson. He was one of the many actors who died from cancer after filming the 1956 film The Conqueror, which was shot downwind from nuclear weapons testing sites. He passed away in 1963 at the age of 58. Important Added Info: Note that this fan photo has been personally autographed (signed) by Dick Powell (it also has a facsimile autograph within the printing, and it has NOT been signed twice)! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer in 2003 (George J. Houle Rare Books & Autographs in Los Angeles, California). He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
