An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 46 1/2" x 63" [118 x 160 cm]) (Learn More) Les Aventures De Casanova (literally translates to "The Adventures of Casanova"), the 1947 Jean Boyer French historical adventure romantic melodrama starring Georges Guetary (in the title role as Casanova), Aime Clariond, Noelle Norman, Albert Dinan (billed as "Dinan"), and Gisele Casadesus. Note that this movie was released in France in two parts, "Le Chevalier De L'Adventure" and "Les Mirages De L'Enfer". When it was released in other countries, it was apparently condensed into a single movie. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Artist: Georges Dastor Important Added Info: Note that this poster is from when the movie was released in France in two parts, and this is the French one-panel for part 2. We are also auctioning two different styles of French one-panels from part 1 in two separate auctions. Also note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie, and that was 6 years ago. The buyer of that poster had it linenbacked and has now reconsigned it to us, so this is still the only example we have ever auctioned! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had darkening, tears, and paper loss on parts of some folds, with greater tears and paper loss in the horizontal and vertical folds in the lower right of the poster. The entire poster had darkened somewhat. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. After the poster was backed, it was roughly handled, and it now has creases down the right side, mostly in the excess linen, but some in the upper right blank border.
