An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Naked Came the Stranger, the 1975 Radley Metzger sexploitation comedy ("From the bestseller that was written by 25 men and one beautiful woman!") starring Darby Lloyd Rains, Levi Richards, Mary Stuart, Alan Marlow, and Christina Hutton. Note that, although the book this movie was based on was credited to "Penelope Ashe", it was in fact written by a group of twenty-four journalists led by Mike McGrady. McGrady's intention was to write a book that was both deliberately terrible and contained a lot of sex, to illustrate the point that popular American literary culture had become mindlessly vulgar. The group wrote the book as an inconsistent hodge-podge, with each chapter written by a different author (some chapters had to be heavily edited because they were too well written). The book became a bestseller, and became even more popular when the hoax was revealed. Except for being based on their book, none of the original authors had anything to do with the film.
