Note that Woody Allen had performed stand-up comedy and had done writing for movies and TV, but it was not until 1966 when he bought the rights to an obscure Japanese movie and dubbed it with incorrect dialog and he was credited as a "director" on the movie, which was released as "What's Up Tiger Lily?". But it was with this movie that he directed his first real movie, and of course, that led to his legendary career that followed! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
