An Unfolded French Advertising Poster (measures 49 1/2" x 71" [126 x 180 cm]) (Learn More) Lefevre-Utile (LU) is a French cookie/biscuit manufacturer which was founded in Nantes, France in 1846 by Jean-Romain Lefevre. They are well-known for a poster created by Firmin Bouisset called Petit Ecolier ("The Little Schoolboy") which incorporated the LU initials. The poster was used extensively and within a few years, the success of the logo resulted in the company becoming better known as LU. Artist: d'apres Firmin Bouisset Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It has a few tears at bottom (one enters the background through the writing at lower right). It has minor edge wear.
