An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked English One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 26 3/4" x 40" [68 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Man on the Run, the 1949 Lawrence Huntington English romantic crime action thriller ("No hope... no love... no future - for the Man on the Run"; set in England right after World War II; about a man who is falsely accused of murder, and he must prove his innocence before the police catch him, and a war widow helps him) starring Derek Farr, Joan Hopkins, Edward Chapman, Laurence Harvey, John Stuart, and John Bailey. Note that the IMDB says that this movie was released in the U.S. in 1951, but we have never seen any movie paper from that release, so we wonder if it occurred, and possibly it was solely an arthouse release. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this English one-sheet, which is a "country of origin" poster for this English movie! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had some darkening in the outer edges of the blank borders. It had a scuff mark near the center, running from 2" above the left of the title through to the edge of the man's coat, with a few other scuffs in the image. Because we don't know if those scuffs were acquired before or after the poster was backed, we don't know what condition it was in prior to linenbacking. Certainly, any restorer could touch up the scuffs described above, and they are not all that distracting. Learn More about condition grades
