Date Sold 9/2/2018 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 25 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Angela, the 1978 Boris Sagal Canadian/Italian/U.S. prostitution romantic melodrama ("Her only sin was love... her only love was her son.") starring Sophia Loren (in the title role as Angela), Steve Railsback, John Huston, John Vernon, and Yvon Dufour. Note that this movie may have received SOME kind of release in the U.S. in the 1970s (we have seen U.S. posters with dates of 1976, 1977 AND 1978 and the IMDB says the movie was not released in the U.S. until 1984), but the only items we have ever seen were stamped "FOREIGN", so most or all of that release might have been outside the U.S. in other English-speaking countries. If anyone knows more about if there was a U.S. release of this movie, and where it was (or has any posters from a "non-foreign" U.S. release), please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these stills appear in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right of each still. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the stills were printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that they WERE printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So they are original stills from 1978, but they were printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this auction also includes the printed envelope this item originally came with! Condition: very good to fine.
