Original Vintage Theatrical Belgian Linenbacked Movie Poster (measures 24 1/4" x 33") (Learn More) Buster Keaton, a 1930s Belgian stock poster created so theaters that were showing Buster Keaton movies could just use this poster to advertise them. Note that it would seem unlikely that this poster could date from the time when Buster Keaton was making films for MGM, because one would think their name would appear on the poster, so it seems more likely it is from the early 1930s, but we really don't know (but we do know it is a really cool image with great art of Keaton!). Important Added Info: This poster has been professionally linenbacked. It now looks great, and most dealers would describe it as "fine (or mint) on linen". We have noted the defects that were restored below (and feel everyone should always do this!). Many collectors would not be aware of the restoration this poster has had unless it was specifically shown to them! Condition: good to very good. The poster was linenbacked in the "European" fashion, meaning that it was merely backed with next to no restoration. There was discoloration down the center of the poster and, to a lesser extent in the rest of the poster that the rest. Most of the linenbacked posters we sell were restored by the finest professionals. An expertly linenbacked poster will often appear "mint", as its defects have been made to "vanish". We are the only seller we are aware of who always tries to describe the condition of the poster prior to being linenbacked, so you are fully aware of what restoration was performed.
