A 1948 Realart Re-release Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Invisible Ray, the 1936 Lambert Hillyer Universal science fiction (sci-fi) horror thriller ("Beware the luminous man!"; "Delving into strange, new fields of mystery!"; "'The Invisible Man' was an eye opener. The fans are still talking about it... but the 'Invisible Man' was a piker compared to the astounding Luminous Man"; "Not a horror picture! But a revelation in thrills and terrific suspense"; a totally bizarre movie about a scientist who goes to Africa with an expedition and finds a meteorite that emits Radium X rays, which he touches, and he absorbs a near-fatal dose, which means that he then kills anyone he touches; another scientist discovers a somewhat cure, which requires he take daily injections of a powerful drug, which slowly turns him mad, and meanwhile, the second scientist starts taking credit for the discovery, which, in controlled doses, can heal blind people!) starring Boris Karloff ("as the luminous man"), Bela Lugosi, Frances Drake, Frank Lawton, Walter Kingsford, Beulah Bondi, Violet Kemble Cooper, Nydia Westman, and Etta McDaniel (Hattie McDaniel's sister!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. tiny paper loss near the center of the top blank border; a light yellow tape stain next to the paper loss in the blank border; small pinholes in the corners; some creases and faint smudges around the edges of the card; a 1/2" tear in the right of the bottom border; at some point someone removed tape from the back of the card and there was a 1/2" x 1" area of surface paper loss from the back of the center of the top border of card and a 1/2" x 2" area of surface paper loss from the back of the bottom center of the image (in the right edge of the girl's image); this does not have any effect on the front of the card, but it makes the paper quite thin in those areas, and someone took clear tape and covered those areas on the back, so as to keep those areas from tearing; there are a few faint scuffs in the bottom center of the image area. This card is in better condition than the above makes it sound! Its defects are basically minor and primarily in the borders or on the back of the card, and the actual image area displays really nicely! Learn More about condition grades
