An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Why Worry, the 1923 Fred C. Newmeyer & Sam Taylor silent adventure romantic comedy ("His latest six reel Pathecomedy"; about a hypochondriac who is advised to go to the tropics and take advantage of the fresh air, but he ends up in the middle of a revolution) starring Harold Lloyd, Jobyna Ralston, John Aasen, Wallace Howe, Jim Mason, Leo White, and Gaylord Lloyd (Harold's brother!). Gaylord Lloyd greatly resembled his brother Harold, and in 1921, he starred in a series of comedy shorts, but they were not that successful, and he began doubling for his brother and having some bit parts in his brother's movies. Also note that John Aasen was a Norwegian giant who appeared in ten movies between 1923 and 1936, often uncredited. He first appeared as "Colosso" in this movie, and he appeared with the Our Gang kids as a circus giant in "Growing Pains". He died in 1938 at the age of 48. He was advertised as being 8' 9", but this is almost certainly an extreme exaggeration, for it was common at the time to add at least one foot to the height of tall men in circuses, and in 2008, his skeleton was measured and he was discovered to have been 7' 2". If anyone knows more about John Aasen, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. There is a 4" diagonal crease in the left of the bottom border that extends into Aasen's legs. There is a 1/2" tear in the right of the top border and some brown stains in the upper left corner of the sky background. Otherwise, the card is in pretty good condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
