An Original Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded Twenty-Four-Sheet Movie Poster (measures approximately 9' x 20') (Learn More) Solomon and Sheba, the 1959 King Vidor romantic Biblical melodrama ("The mightiest motion picture ever created!"; "A motion picture so vast it sweeps all before it!"; "Story by Crane Wilbur"; "Number its sights in the thousands! The desert charge of the Pharaoh's chariots against the Israelite host! The fabled caravan of the Queen of Sheba! The sacred council of the twelve tribes! The sacrificial altar of Mount Gibeon! The exotic Sheban gardens! The seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines of Solomon!"; "For it was thus with her: she would dance and inflame her followers. and there were many men amongst them ...ready to appease their Queen."; "Thus was it said of the pagan... Sheba!") starring Yul Brynner (in the title role as Solomon; with hair!), Gina Lollobrigida (in the title role as Sheba), George Sanders, Marisa Pavan, David Farrar (billed as "David Farrar as guest star"; "With guest star David Farrar"), and Harry Andrews. Note that in 1958, Power was acting on stage, but he signed to play the lead in this movie, returning him to the swashbuckling type of role he had tried to get away from for so long. Ironically, he died of a heart attack while filming a dueling scene (he was just 44 years old). Yul Brynner was brought in and re-shot all of Power's scenes, but the studio tried to save some money, and you can still see Power in some scenes and long shots! Important Added Info: This 24-sheet poster was folded in a way that makes it resemble a tri-folded six-sheet (only much larger, of course, as there are more sections). But the length and width of the folded 24-sheet is just about the same as that of a folded six-sheet or three-sheet. This means that this 24-sheet needs to be sent in an oversized flat package, which will measure roughly 16" x 38", and it will cost more to send than a regular sized package. Also note that this 24-sheet was printed in 12 sections. Condition: very good. There are some creases, smudges, and tiny tears on some foldlines, and some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds. There is some darkening and extra wear on the part of the back of the poster that was on the outside when it was fully folded (it is the part that includes the "SOLOM" of "SOLOMON" in the title). Overall, the poster does have some darkening and several tiny areas of paper loss on the foldline of the poster that was on the outside when it was fully folded (as described above), but certainly, it has likely survived in about as good condition as one might've hoped after 49 years, and this may well be the sole surviving example of this great poster!
