eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result ANIMAS TRUJANO 1sh '61 Lease from Hershenson/Allen ArchiveAn Original Vintage One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh) (Learn More) Animas Trujano: El Hombre Importante (released in the U.S. as "The Important Man"), the 1962 Ismael Rodriguez Mexican biographical melodrama (based on the novel by Rogelio Barriga Rivas; about a Oaxaquenan Indian, one of the tribes native to Mexico, and he is a drunken lazy man, but he has a burning desire to become "important", and he will do absolutely anything to achieve that goal!) starring Toshiro Mifune (in the title role as "Animas Trujano"), Columba Dominguez, Flor Silvestre, Pepito Romay, and Titina Romay. Note that Toshiro Mifune might seem an odd choice to play a Mexican, and he had to learn his Spanish lines phonetically, but all the reviews of this movie say it is an absolute masterpiece and that Mifune's performance is an equal to his great Japanese performances! Yet the movie seems completely forgotten today, except by major film buffs, which is sad. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
