Note that this was originally commissioned as two separate NBC TV specials, and it spoofs the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, After the U.S. boycotted the Moscow Summer Olympics, the Summer special was not shown on network TV, but both were later aired on HBO as a single film and it was released theatrically in some countries.
