R45 Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (24 1/2" x 38") (Learn More) Sons of the Desert, the classic 1933 Lloyd French & William A. Seiter Hawaii screwball husbands-and-wives comedy (produced by Hal Roach; likely the very best Laurel & Hardy movie, this is the one where they sneak off to a Sons of the Desert convention and play ukuleles and sing "Honolulu Baby", but they lie to their wives and are reported dead in a ship sinking, and much more!) starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy), Charley Chase (primarily remembered as a great silent comedian who appeared in 276 movies, most of them comedy shorts, Chase also directed 140 comedy shorts), Mae Busch, and Dorothy Christy NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet has been trimmed and measures 24 1/2" x 38". Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is 27" x 41". Condition: fair. All of the blank borders were very neatly trimmed off at one time. The poster was almost completely separated on all foldlines, and much tape was put on the back to hold it together. The tape has bled through in the bottom of the vertical foldline. There are many small tears and small areas of paper loss in all the foldlines. There is a 1/2" x 3" piece of scotch tape over Hardy's nose and forehead and two pieces of clear tape in the left edge of the top foldline. There are water stains in the letters of the title. There is a 12" tear down the top center of the poster just to the right of center. There is a 12" diagonal crease in the right center of the poster and the last 6" of it is separated. There are many creases throughout the poster. Clearly, this poster has lots and lots of defects, but a talented restorer could make it look great (but with a lot of work!).
