An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 4.375" x 6"; 4 pages) (Learn More)

Bride of the Regiment, the 1930 John Francis Dillon romantic musical ("He captured her castle, but he could not capture her heart!") starring Vivienne Segal, Allan Prior, Walter Pidgeon, Louise Fazenda, Myrna Loy, and Lupino Lane (Ida Lupino's cousin!). Note that Walter Pidgeon was born in 1897, and started making silent movies in the mid 1920s, but he had limited success. He had a wonderful speaking voice, but that did not lead to stardom in early s4ound movies. Finally, in 1937, at the age of 40, MGM put him under contract, but still limited him to supporting roles. His "big break" finally came in 1941 with "How Green Was My Valley", and he became one of MGM's top stars of the early 1940s (no doubt helped by so many other male stars being away at war). He stayed with MGM for the remainder of his career. Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving complete copies are thought to exist (the Vitaphone soundtrack discs still survive).

Important Added Info: This herald was folded in half horizontally at one time, but was never folded in half vertically.

Condition: very good. This vintage movie paper item (or related movie memorabilia) is in from somewhat lesser condition (what most collectors might call "good to very good" or "good") to clearly lesser condition (what some collectors might call "fair"). The item offered here has defects typical of many items that are forty to ninety years old, and some are mainly only in the borders or on the covers (if it is an item with multiple pages), so it is likely that the item can still be displayed and enjoyed. Please look at our "super-sized" image, as it will greatly help you know what condition this item is in! But also remember that some of these items have defects that may not be seen from our images (either because we did not photograph every part of the item, or because they are the sort of defect that is not easily seen). Please do not bid on this item unless you can accept the defects that it has! But also know that we were extremely harsh in grading these items we are currently selling, because we wanted our buyers to be at least satisfied when they received their purchase, and possibly overjoyed! We downgraded many items to this lower condition grade (especially sheet music) because they had defects that are enough that we would not grade them as "very good", but we would still think many collectors would be happy with those items. If our super-sized image seems to be in nicer condition than you would expert the item to be in, know that it is likely a result of our having graded these items so harshly!
