a lot of 4 Norman Films heralds. Norman Films was an American film studio and distributor in Jacksonville, Florida from 1920 to the 1940s. Founded by Richard Edward Norman, the studio produced films featuring all-African-American casts with protagonists in positive roles. The studio produced eight feature length films and numerous shorts, and its only surviving film, The Flying Ace, has been restored by the Library of Congress. The studio transitioned to distribution and promotion after the rise of talking pictures (they experimented with the sound-on-disc method which proved to be problematic), and eventually closed. In modern times, the studio's facilities were restored and re-purposed as the Norman Studios Silent Film Museum which has been designated a National Historic Landmark. Note that the items in this lot are from the 1910s to the 1920s. We do not provide a list of these items, but there are images of all of them.
