An Original Vintage Television Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 55 pages) (Learn More) Baretta, the 1975 - 1978 Stephen J. Cannell crime melodrama television (TV) series starring Robert Blake (in the title role as Det. Tony Baretta), Tom Ewell, Michael Roberts, John Ward, and Dana Elcar. Note that this show had an interesting origin! It was one of the early efforts of legendary TV writer/producer Stephen J. Cannell, but it had already been on the air in a different form! In 1973, Tony Musante starred in a TV cop show called "Toma", where he played the lead character. He starred in the first season, but refused to be in the second season, unless they only made a limited number of episodes. The producers told him to do the entire season or quit, and to their surprise, he quit. They attempted to hire Robert Blake to replace him as the new "Toma", but Blake rightfully didn't want to play someone else's character, so they changed the lead cop's name to Baretta (but otherwise pretty much kept the exact same show, although the character changed to better suit Blake's unique personality). Important Added Info: Note that this script is from March 24, 1975 (from season 1, episode 12) and the screenplay was written by Philip De Guere, Jr. Also note that the script has the working title "The Day the Dominoes Fell in Mount Chester", but the episode ultimately was called "This Ain't My Bag". Condition: very good. The cover is darkened around the edges and the back page is mostly darkened and fragile around the edges. Learn More about condition grades
